Wessel Swart – In Memory
It is with sadness that we notify of the passing of Wessel Swart. Wessel has been involved in the driving of Welsh Ponies since 1984 when he drove the pair Bukkenburg Habit and Bukkenburg Haiti for Philip Katz at the Bredasdorp Show. He successfully attended the Cape Show in 1985 and in the same year was the Supreme Single Harness Driving Champion with Uyzel Bonzeley for Paul Dawson at Nationals in Bloemfontein. He was a consumate horseman and we will miss his greatly. His success in the triple Championships of Double Harness, Tandem and Four in Hand at the same show is legendary.
